Power Skating
Power Skating is a focused skating program designed to help players move faster, stronger, and more confidently on the ice. Each session involves breaking down skating mechanics to generate maximum force per stride while maintaining control and balance.
Through structured drills and age-appropriate instruction, athletes improve stride technique, balance, edge control, and acceleration. Sessions emphasize proper skating mechanics to build speed, agility, and overall efficiency in game situations.
Key areas of development include:
-
Explosive starts (first 3 to 5 strides)
-
Stronger, more efficient stride mechanics
-
Edge control and tight turns
-
Forward and backward crossovers
-
Quick transitions (forward to backward)
-
Backward skating power
-
Agility and change of direction
-
Stability in contact situations
Sessions may also incorporate Skills & Drills elements, including puck control, passing, shooting, and game awareness, to support well-rounded player development.
